MOJAVE/kfx250 BEST 250 4 STROKE ATV
#1
there is absolutley no reason for kawasaki to stop producing mojaves, and it bothers me when people claim it as "obsolete". look at all of the other 4 stroke 250 atv motors out there, none compares, not even the 300's!. they are all SOHC air cooled, outdated and COMPLETELY OBSOLETE DESIGNS!don't get me wrong, all of the machines made now are pretty good and reliable, but look at the features of the mojave that it has had since its introdution in 1987 and you'll see it was was ahead of its time, using the same technology that we have just recently started using for serious 4 stroke racing applications. it has a high performance, 249cc dual over head cam , liquid cooled motor. not to mention it's 11:1 compression, what is a yfz 450's compression?11.5:1. same as the z400. the mojave is the true predacessor to the ltz/kfz400 we know and love today and people just don't appreciate that. it all out dominates the entry level class as the best all around quad in my opinion and i think that suzuki disgraced the z400 with the z250. not that the z250 is a nice entry level quad, it just isnt the same breed of machine as the z/kfx400. all i can say is that the mojave really was the true kfx 250 as it was badged in 2004, and kawasaki should have kept it that way to uphold the reputation of the kfx400, and maybe suzuki shouldve made one in yellow.

You're preaching to the choir there, mojavemadness. It was the bean counter that shut the Mojave down. As I said in another corum, sounds like somebody hasto go over to Kawasaki of America with an aluminumbat and set'em straight, it's just not gonna be me. Really sucks they stopped makin the tried and true Mojave. Didn't changed them one bit except for colors over the yrs. Why change an awesome design? I loved the Mojave's. Nothin ever went wrong with them. Actually they had troubles with the carb boot comin loose and suckin dirt in the motor. Other than that it was bullet proof. Suspension wasn't the best but hell, it still got some good air. I used to have a 2001 Mojave. Sold it to my cuz. I rejetted it and put a full DG exhaust system. That thing screamed!! Fastest 250 I EVER rode! All I ever did to it was check the valves. Great trail machine. That thing went everywhere. Sad to see an old steed put to pasture but thats what the competition and the market does. I guess kawi wasn't sellin enough. I wish they still made it. There are still a ton out there. I salute you Mojave, hahaha. Go Green!!!

well the mojave is a great machine ,,,,, as every one knows and when it was iterduced it beat most of the compition and even the 300cc classes stock for kawasaki to stop making them they will realize that there sales will go down after all they really didnt advertize the mojave like some of the other bikes it came out and there it was selling its self and when it finally caught on they want to stop the manufacturing of a legend
