so, has anyone spent the big $$ they want for one of these and was it worth it? did you notice a big difference? handling any better in 2wd?

my Yamaha has 2wd/4wd and i find 90% of the ride can be done in 2wd. i do notice the steering isn't as stiff in 2wd. also, i like to know what i can get thru in 2wd drive, so i know when to jump off and help the kids.

i got one on my '96 foreman, i havent taken it muddin yet so i cant tell how well i actually like it but stuffs always gonna handle better in 2wd then 4wd. our old polaris was a hoss to steer in 4wd. btw we bought our foreman from our friend an atv mechanic and he installed it so appearently he liked..

Two of my best friends and riding buddies are brothers. One rides a 01 honda rancher 4x4 and the other has a new 04 Rubicon. Both were full time 4x4. This past week we added the Warn kit to both machines and they love them. Now they can finally do donuts and power slide in the turns. They both say the increase in power is dramatic on both machines. It doesnt even take a couple of hours to change them out and its apparantly well worth the 225 from atvoutfitters for the warn424 kits. My Foreman came with the 2wd/4wd option from the factory. I ride in 2wd all the time until I hit a deep mud hole or super steep or rough terrain. The difference in 4wd verses 2wd is tremendous. Makes riding all day a breeze.

Try atvoutfitters again and tell him Lamar sent you. His name is Matthew and he will deal if he possibly can. Especially if he knows you are a friend of mine. Let him know the price he is competing with also. Good luck.

Have you tried pricing the Warn 424 on EBAY? That may save you 20-30 bucks.

I put one on the 03 Rancher I bought last month.. I took it to the trails last weekend for a 2 day ride.
Talk about GREAT!!! IT is just that. Some trails I like 4x2.. When we hit the hiway for a run down to next trail its great. Turning in the trails is sure easy.. You can take it in and out on the fly. They say you can
do it in any gear/ speed... I would do it about 5 mph a few times I was in 4th when came on hard place.

What I would do different.... I mounted mine on the rt side right by stearing wheel.. I would have put it on the left..That way you control your speed while changeing.

Bought mine on Ebay $220 ADT Direct I think it was.. just do the search in Ebay.
I had my Honda dealer install it... $100
