Default How to put lights on a 2004 Sportsman 90?

Has anyone put lights on a '04 Sportsman 90? I'd like to see what it would take. Is it best to pop out the two fake lights in the grill and the run the wiring (per previous posting on Pred 90)? Use fog lights in their place? What size of fog lights? Then how to mount them?
Any ideas?

.

I don't know the most optiminal solution to install DRL (Daytime Running Lights) lights on an SP-90. So many different ways. I'll let folks with an SP-90 with custom lights provide you the details of their unique solution(s).

Couple of things to keep in mind.... Location / usage of its off/on switch if how you wire up the lights. For a picture of most popular wiring methods, surf: - Press Here - For an easy to see / use manual switch we used, surf: - Press Here - If you install a Relay, it many look like: - Press Here -

Hope this helps...

We have a GPX Raider 90 alot like the Predator. It came with 10w bulbs. I went to the auto parts store and got 25w bulbs for it. Bulbs are brighter but the light housing/reflectors aren't any good at aiming the beam for headlights at night. I got some small cheap 50w halogen driving type lights and mounted one on the instrument housing of the handle bars. Works great and moves with the bars so he can see where he is tring to go instead of where the quad is pointing. Another great idea we use on snowmachines (sleds) is to mount one of these on top of our helmets with a quick connect for power. When you fall off or forget to disconnect it will unplug. This works great as it will shine wherever you look. Great for picking your way thru trees etc. at night, also for working on sled/bike/quad at night out on trails.
Commercial unit with built in LED brake light is:

I think these come with a 100w bulb that would be to much power drain for the mini quads but they may offer smaller bulbs.

IMHO the CPSC or however they are need their heads checked. Good headlights should be a must on all these quads. Personally I only get about 4-5 hrs daylight in the winter and without headlights all our motortoys would be useless.
