Iam thinking in making a shift in a shopwork for if my electric shift fail. I can put on a shift with a snap ring lock or bolted on the exagon rod.
I mean for a long period and not being so dependent of the electricity and be mechanical.
I notice that the rod moves up and down with the actuator .Do this will afect the motor

TAKE IT BACK.....tell them to sort the porblem.....or tell them where they can locate the bike (use your imagination)....

i don't think i could live with problems like that, once its out of warranty it may get expensive

You should have noticed that I'm from Lisbon - Portugal, you probably don't know where it is, therefor my English is not so good.

I challenge you to write a message in Portuguese, and then I will tell you who has the worst grammar.

HUM..... Sounds like you have a little corrosion on you shifter contacts. Luckily, I haven't had this problem, even after flipping mine upside down in almost waist deep mud and water. What I did is take the shifter apart "on the handlebars" and clean it throughly with fresh water and then dry it out and put dielectric greese at the contact points and at the seal lip and it will reduce the chances of it happening again. As a matter of fact, I pulled ALL of my electric connectors apart all over the quad and gave them all a shot of dielectric greese, including the sparkplug boot. It will really help if you go into alot of water.
