were do you want the oil at on the dip stick?

I checked the oil and it was on the bottom of dip stick about 3/8 up on it were do I really want it at on my DS650

As a rule i like to keep mine 2/3 or 3/4 of the way up between the marks, that should be fine for most engines

anywhere in the middle of the 2 lines . any higher and it runs out the overflow
