Default Headlight adjustment on FX-55

Bought an un-branded small ATV for my kids which I think is the same as the Redcat FX-55. It has full front suspension and LOTS of power. It's an awesome little machine, but there's one design flaw I've noticed. It has a very bright automotive style headlight with high/low beams that shines up into the sky at about a 30 degree angle. I did find a bolt underneath the light that lets it adjust some but it still won't come down enough to shine on the ground. Not that my kids ride a lot at night, but we are on 4 acres and there are evenings when they want to play around with it and the headlight would be very useful.

Has anyone else noticed this and found a way to make the headlight usable?

BTW, I recommend this ATV highly. I haven't clocked it with the GPS yet, but I would guess it will do 30 in 4th gear with an adult on it.

My son is 4 and has one. Great machine. Make sure you put the engine brace on. It was added. His light is the same way but I didn't get around to messing with it yet. If I figure something out, I will post back and hope you do the same if you beat me to it.

Installed the recommended engine brace, obtained from Redcat, but it only lasted about 2 months. The clamp that clamps to the frame was way to thin and weak to handle the stress and broke. After it broke, the engine movement during take off started again, and the chain started coming off the front sprocket.

Problem not solved.....

I ended up welding angel iron. Also another person used angel iron and put a u clamp on the front going around the frame. He said it worked great.

Welded the angle iron to the frame? A U clamp sounds like it might work.

Yes I welded the front to the frame. I dont think I will be taking out the motor in the new future and if I had to I would just cut it off. My son loves to jump with it. I had to make it as strong as possible. I might be upgrading him to the new fx75. same machine but auto and more cc's. Headlight also works right.

Speaking of the 75, how does that auto work? Is it a CVT or a single gear, fake CVT like some other small ATVs have.

As for more CC's, I don't think so. I firmly believe that my 50 is really a 70, based on the length of the cylinder, the power it has and the top speed of 37mph. The cylinder doen't have the CC's stamped anywhere on it, strange.
