What does this bolt do for the quad

I was thinking it would be a silencer or a restrictor of some sort but i am a little lost now

It holds the spark arrester in.

Bolt on end of Viper exhaust

It depends what year it is.On our 04 model it doesn't do anything its just a hole with a bolt in it.I think it was intended as a clean out if the muffler got plugged up.On the 05 models they come with a removable spark arrestor that can be taken out and cleaned.
