Default Confused-need help w/ after-market tires & rims for 03 Trail Boss

Stock front 23x7x10, Rear 22x11x10

I want to go to 25x7x? on the front. I can't find them for a 10" rim. Also, I would go with an 8" wide but am afraid of rubbing the tie rod. I don't want to go wider than that because the quad is wide as is. So I've looked at new rims and would like steel. I don't know what I'm looking at and what would work when looking at all the diff. rims?

I want to go with 24X11X10 on rear. I can find them in the Mud Lite's, 589's, and Bear Claw's that fit my stock white 10" rim.

It would be great to find steel white rims for the front that I can mount 23X7X? on and keep my rear rims stock.

You can see I am staying with a 1" difference in hight front to rear as is stock. I'm thinking this is a good idea to stay at a 1" hight diff. and staying with stock rims in the rear will save $'s.

Note: I do have the Stage 1 Kit and think the quad can handle these larger tires. Can you guys help me find what I'm looking for and correct me if I'm on the wrong path? Open to suggestions. I need help.

Lukster,

Dennis kirk and Rockymountain atv both have 23x8x10 p# 54-2026 front itp's and 24x11x10 p# 54-2028 itp's rear. The 23x8x10 will have plenty of room between the tie rod end and tire. I have that setup. You have a 10" rim not 11". These part numbers are from Dennis Kirk.

2manytoys, You are right. I corrected my error. Agreed 8" wide on front will be fine.

I still want to go to 25" high on front and 24" high on back. I do see you run 23" front and 24" rear. I need all the help as stated. I need 25X8 steel rims that will closely match the stock rear rims. I just don't know anything about the after market rims. I do know the front rims will have to be taller than 10". The other rim info is foreign to me?

Take another look and let me know what will meet this challenge, if known. Thank you for the reply.

The only way to go to a 25x8 front tire is to go with an 11" wheel. So the front would be 25x8x11 on a 8"wide x 11" tall wheel. Your front wheel would have a bolt pattern of 4/156. Then you can stay with the 24x11x10 with the stock 11"x10 " 4/4 bolt wheel. Dennis kirk has all of this that you need.

2manytoys, I don't mind going with the 11" tall wheels up front. So this won't change the overall hight of 25" in the front?

If this works than I will go of course with the 24" on the stock rear rims and maintain the 1" diff. between the front and rear.

Now the front bolt pattern of 4/156 is good info but what type of rim? I see type C and such out there. And what do you think of this overall plan I have here? Thank you for your patience.

If I had the money I would have done the same thing but the wheels get expensive. Are you going to buy all 4 new wheels. Do you want aluminum or steel? It will be hard to find a wheel that is 11" with 4/156 bolt pattern. The next size up for Polaris in that bolt pattern is 12". You can go with the Polaris magnum wheels . They are 12" front with 4/156 front bolt pattern and 12" rear 4/4 bolt pattern. Then you can go with the 25x8x12 on the front and 25x10x12 on the rear. You lose the 1" difference from front to back but the Magnum has the same size front and rear tire height.

2manytoys, No, just going to change out the front rims. At least that's the plan. I'll look into the magnum wheels - Thank's for the idea. I'll have to sit on all this until Friday when I have more time to look around, now that I have some idea of what to look for. I'll let you know next week what I come up with. In the mean time I'll keep an eye on the thread.
