Hello All!
Yesterday I received my two Kazuma 50's for my 5 and 6 year old boys... Here are some of my first impressions..
I order the bikes from Raceway, ordering was smooth and delivery was said to be 7 to 10 days. Lo and behold they arrived early! (A pleasant surprised.) Both were fairly well packaged although one had an unpleasant encounter with an over zealous Forklift operator... (The bike was fine.)
Assembly and fit were better than I expected for a 599 machine. And as mentioned in another post on the Kazuma 50 the oil plug drain is misidentied and somewhat difficult to remove. Luckily standing a mini on its butt is not the difficult.. :-) After draining the shipping lube and filling with good 20/50, installing the front tires, tightening the Handle bars and setting up the battery we were nearly ready to start.
After going over the bike for any loose items we did discover the little rubber caps on the front nose guard needed glued, a little Gorilla snot took care of that... The next issue was finding neutral... Take your time... We then gased them up opened the petcock and hit the starter button... My oh my! It took a couple of tries but they started right up and they are cold natured. After a good warmup I was surprised at how quite these little guys are! Once they are warm they will restart with a quick push of the button..
The 1st driver was my 5 Year old... :-) I thought his little head was going to explode!!!!! (I have some pics in my Gallery.) Overall it went very well. He had no problem steering in the backyard, no problem with the switchs or throttle and no problem with the Brake Pedal! Within 10 minutes he was tooling around like nobodies bussiness....
Word of warning... The rear mount engine shutoff should have a little grease on the pull shaft, it tends to bind when pulling in an off angle, preventing you from shutting off the bike... Oh and throttle these things down... Good lord in 1st gear they are pretty fast... Thank god the 5 year old didn't figure out how to get into 2nd gear! LOL
For the most part these machines have a total lack of suspension but for starter bikes that they can learn on I think they will serve there purpose well. They have more than ample power little kids, I don't think any of the trails we run on will cause them to much problem, although deep water will surely be an issue...
About the only things I haven't addressed yet are sealing up the wiring harness and checking the brake shoes. I have heard they are not made of very durable material. (This could be a problem on our wet trails in Central Florida...)
Well I think I have run on long enough... If anyone has any questions I will be glad and try to answer them!

CM,
In my gallery, photo 4, has a pic of my boys... The six year old is about 45+ lbs and the 5 year old is about 37 lbs. My youngest is a little on the small size... LOL But the bikes seem to have plenty of power to spare so I wouldn't think a 55 pounder would be a problem..
Good Luck,
Hibrass

Hi,
We've had our Kazuma 50 for a month now and can report nothing but good. My four year old has had no problems - the brake especially works well for him as he can operate it easily. It always starts first time - and with the throttle limited ( more to stop him revving the thing to pieces ) and second gear he has a great time. My six year old also rides it with no problem - it will pull in all gears.
The gear box is unusual for me - in that you can go from neutral to first or fourth ( and the label is backwards - first is down ). I was a little concerned that it was too fast until I realized that the boys first go had been in top gear....
However - bear in mind we're riding on the grass yard - I wouldn't buy one for severe off road use as the suspension is really non functional ( too stiff for a small child ), and I'm told if it is softened up then there's a risk of the inlet manifold breaking from hitting the frame.

I just bought one of these from goscoot.com. Ordered it Friday, got it the following Thursday, delivered to my door. Went through the drill of setting it up. Started fine, had to adjust the carb. What a pain in the you know what! It is up and behind the gas tank. Took me half and hour to find a tool that would fit up there to turn the screws. Got it adjusted. I bought this for my 3 year old. he loves it. Put it in second and away he goes. My 7 yeqar old daughter rips around the yard with this thing. Power is not an issue. I had to limit the throttle to about half. I rode it once down our gravel driveway, through all 4 gears; it's really fast! Brakes are dragging a little, cannot seem to get it to totally free. Not sure how to grease the rear axle yet either. There is no suspension to speak of... just lower the tire pressure to 8psi all the way around. Helps a little. Very quiet motor, can barely hear it running. The label on the shifter is backwards. It's also a rotary transmission. From N down 1-2-3-4-N-1... kinda wierd. Nothing broke yet after daily use for a week now. Hope the engine holds up, find it strange they give you directions in the owners manual on how to remove the engine...
When you drain the oil, make sure you remove the right plug. The large one that is at a 90 degree angle, not the other one (the timing tensioning spring). The manual is wrong once again here. Noticed the start relay is mounted really close to the rear spring too. Could short out if the rubber boot get knocked loose. Otherwise, good bang for the buck.

Had my Kazuma 50 now for almost a month. No problems to speak of. It has been riden by both of my kids almost daily. Only thing I notice is the choke lever moves to the choke position after riding it for while. I just put a rubber band on it to keep it open. Runs flawless otherwise. Great on gas. No real complaints as of yet... except the next atv will have front suspension. Great learning bike though.

Give it another month or two............unless it was given to you, you'll regret buying one.
Sincerely disgusted,

I have two for 3 months and haven't had any problems. We had to correct a couple of fit n finish things but no big deal... Could you be more specific about the problems you are having? Maybe someone here can help. Also were did you get them??? ATV Raceway is very helpful about taking care of custumer problems...

Mark I really just think you got a lemon. I am sorry to hear how mad you are. I have seen you post a few times in the forums that they are junk don't buy them. Again sorry about the bad feelings you have about the product but over all they have been great for many people. I really think you just got a bad bike. This can happen. But I think it is a little extreme to post every place they are junk do not buy them.
We have sold a ton of these units and have had great luck with them. I have to agree about the intake tubes. I have seen them crack on many people. But 99% of the time after they replace it I have not heard a word about it again. The intake tube is a 4 bolts repair then it on the riding again.
I know how it feel to get something and have troubles with it. I been there and I am sure we have all. But going by percentage the Kazuma 50 is a great little bike. I am being 100% honest when I say you get more then what you pay for when you buy the bike. I am not trying to say you are not having problems with yours, I am just saying I think it was a bad bike from the beginning. You should take that one back and get a refund or a new unit.
All The Best.
