The only picture I can get of the foot shift is this one(the one on honda.com)

can you all post some pictures of the 05 or 04 RancherS4x4 foot shifter?
Are you able to fit your boot under the shifter and shift accuratly?

 

 

I dont have any pictures of mine, but I have a 2004 rancher foot shift, exact same thing as the 05 (i dont think they changed anything) and I love it. It doesnt have a ton of power (need to be in 1st gear in really deep, thick mud, 2nd gear wont cut it) but it's light and easy to pull out if you do get stuck. I have size 13 feet, and the only time i have a problem with the foot shifter is when I put on my Sorel Dominator boots for deer hunting. I can still get my foot under the shifter, but i wouldnt be able to shift quickly if i needed to.

 

I think they changed the tread pattern!

 

me to only im more of a 14 I just make myself go 13(cheaper) some brands 13's are as big as other brands 14's!
What is the top speed youve gotten to?I had my neighbors 05 Rancher ES 4x4 up to 43 on tuesday!In 5th gear it makes a whineing sound!but if I shifted back in to 4th it would stop!
DOES ANYONE Know why it does this???

 

yes, mine does that too, it makes a whine sound in 5th gear, probably normal and might go away after the gears have seated together.
i like it because i have the foot shift model and have no idea what gear i'm in, so when i hear that noise i know it's in top gear.
