Well I entered my first ever official harescramble on my 2001 ds and got 1st place in class b. Class b was for first time riders and those that didnt know what they were getting into. I am very glad I bought the 22" rear holeshots and 23" fronts holeshot hd. I was able to go through most of the mud holes and swamps if I had a good run at them. The ds was a little big for some of the tight turns in the trees. No major damage. I didd bump a tree and bend the bumper a bit, nothing that cant be straightend also fliped it on its lid once boy what heavy pig with all that mud on to get it flipped back over on its wheels. I did 3 laps on a twelve mile course in 2hrs and 1min. The other five atvs either broke down or quite before it was done. Overall it was a very good time. Will do it again. The ds is going in the shop next week to get the head gasket fixed and valves adj. I am very proud of the ds I have 5500 miles and have not had 1 lick of problems with it up until now. I there were more harescramble type races up in my area I would enter more and make the ds a machine that should be recognized. Just thought I would let you all know how I did with her.

The holeshot HDs bit very well in the corners and the xct rears were able to dig through everything. I was very impressed with them.

where in northern MN was the race? I might be interested in bringing mine up for some competition some day.

 

The race was in Karlstead Mn way up north.

 

hey guys I am from minnesota also a little town called Red Wing like as in red wing boots, maybe we could all get together someday this summer and ride? I have seen an atv park up by hinckley and have a couple of buddies that wanna go up there, anyone interested maybe in a month or so?
