Will 27" mudlites fit??
#1
Hey guys. I am looking to purchase 27" Mudlites and rims for my 2004 Rubicon. I have heard they will not fit without a fender kit. While others say they will???? Iam currently running 26" Mudlites and rims and want some more ground clearance for the high center in mudholes. I love my honda but wish I held out till the 2005 foreman came out. The Rubicons radiator is killing me. I run in alot of silty mudholes here in north mississippi and it causes high temps all the time. Also honda needs to stick to making atvs with independant axles from now on a stop producing the ever bothersome mud scraper rear axle. The new rincon looks to be a awsome ride. Any help will be appreciated. Also what kind of power loss should I expect. Do I need to install a performance kit?

im not exactly sure but i can give u an idea on how to check.. when u turn ur front wheels through their entior motion check to see if u have an extra inch of clearenc and run ur hand around the rears to check them if u feel comfortable that they will fit by these mesurments then they probubly will (its a big quad so i would think it would have the clearens any way but i am nto at all sure) if ur already packing 26 i think ull be all right but im no expert especialy in this area but i do no that if that clearance check works ur fine (on our 4x4 we but larger tires on it and thats how we checked and it was realy close a small piece of plastic touched and that was an easy cut with a razor)

you will probably have issues with the tires rubbing on the inside of your fenders if wou go with the 27"s. would a lift kit suit you? i have a 2" lift on my 05 with 27" and have never had a problem with rubbage. and yes you will have power loss
