need some adivce

Default need some adivce

i need some advice on getting a new sport qaud people have told me i to tall for the 300ex and the blaster and now im thinking about the ds650....ill probaly be doing some xc raceing on it and mabey some mx but does any1 think i should look at something else....ide be buying used and im 5-10 about 145 pounds if that helps any

IMO, I think you fit the 300 well. My boy is the same as you and loves his.
But anyways,
The DS650 is a great machine. However, it is not a XC or MX machine.Too big for XC and to heavy for MX.
IMO you should look for a 400cc machine. They are made more for what you are doing. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Are you partial to 4-strokes?How about a 250R?The DS is a great bike.You may like a raptor also.If any of your friends have some of these ride theirs before you buy one.

i did think about a 250r but people r telling me im better off not gettin one of thoughs because 2 stroke engines go bad after that long

Generally,a 4-stroke will outlast a 2-stroke,but the 2-strokes hold up pretty good.Plus the 2-strokes are alot simpler to rebuild.I just like the 2-strokes.To me,it's easier and cheaper to get big power from a 2-stroke.Just my opinion.

yes but if i bye an 1989 250R i dont want it to die on me in like 3-4 years

If you are that concerned about a 2-stroke,then get a 4-stroke.There's several really good quads out there.The yfz450 seems really popular now.

for your events look at the ltz400 or the yfz450

any of the 400's or 450's are god for u or mabye even a pred for xc i see em alot in those races
