Take your bike to the local Kawasaki dealer and get that fixed! That is definetly a problem that could lead to some serious tranny problemsif not taken care of asap!

Actually it might not be something wrong with it at all. My Bayou does the same thing. I don't have to turn the reverse lever. the problem with mine is that the cable is bent/kinked and it is always engaged. It won't hurt anything, in fact I like it better.

it could possibly be the cable or inside case where shifter locks in notches could not be locking check parts breakdown at your dealer or check cable d.j.

my lakota did the same thing right after i got it. the little brace that holds the cable down by the reverse lever was bent and had it engaged all the time. i bent it back and it was fine. check and make sure your cable isn't in a bind somewhere.

your not the only one with this problem, I just bough a 1995 mojave with motor that was shifted into reverse while it was moving and destroyed the whole motor. Est. $3200.00 to fix it! so we bought another motor from a salvage yard that was suposed to be great, but this motor will engage into reverse before the stopper cam hits the lock out arm. so there is something wrong in the transmition. so the motor is going back!

First check the cable if thats not it take the case off were the cable runs to and inspect those parts. There is a lever behind that there is a spring and a cam.the cam is what stops it from going into reverse. It happend to my mojave because it had gotton mud and water in that case and must have been in there for awhile because all those parts were rusted out.I just replaced everything it was not that expensive and very easy to put in.
