Default Foreman 450 Bearing Replacement--Need Advice

My bearings started making a grinding noise on my right front wheel. I took a look and the bearings are in bad shape. What does it take to replace these? Just replace the actual bearings and pack them with grease?

Anything else I should do while I'm doing this?

Thanks,

bd

Consider replacing them with sealed bearings. You can get them from All ***** Racing. They also come with the seals. You basically have to remove your tie rod end from the knuckle, your brake hub and axle nut, and break your lower and upper ball joints loose. To break the ball joints loose, unbolt your lower shock bolt, ball joint castle nuts and cotters. Hit a hammer on the bottom of the knuckle several good times and the lower joint will pop out of the socket. Next do the same with the upper. You do not need a pickle fork for the job by using this method. Take a look at the brakes while every thing is off. Take the new bearings and place them in the freezer over night to make them easier to go back in. Regrease everything with a good grease (Belray, etc). You can press them in with a large socket and vice or gently use a hammer. They should not drop in easily. It should take some effort. If they do drop in then your knuckle needs replacing. If this is the case, you may want to consider getting the knuckle and bearings together from www.servicehonda.com. Their around 50/per side. While your knuckles are off, if your cv boots are torn, etc now is the time to fix them. Pick up a service manual for all torque specs.
