Ya'll check out my photos page and tell me what ya'll think about my rear winch mount. Yes, it is an off brand winch. I'm just cheap like that, but just pay attention to the mounting. Give me your honest opinions.

Did you have to remove the plastic storage box?

My first thought is that I would have had the winch flipped around so the end was not over the muffler.

You now have me thinking about a rear winch, making my own plate and mounting it there. Thanks for the idea.

I have always thought that a rear winch would come in handy on a quad. You did a real nice job bigred500. Welcome to the forum.

 

No I didn't remove the storage box. I did cut just a little bit of the fender around the brake light so the steel plate would slide up under it. I thought about selling these mounting plates on Ebay. Do ya'll think they would sell? I would have them precut and predrilled to mount onto the fourwheeler. The only thing the buyer would have to do is drill the two holes in the frame and drill the holes for their winch.

You can sell anything on ebay, especially a good idea. Just tell people it has the image of the Virgin Mary j/k. Good job on this project!! Many more will want this mounting plate. My son and I were at the Polaris dealer yesterday and they had a MV-7. It has a rear winch and he and both thought it would be just a useful, if not more, than a front winch.
