Default I checked the top speed on my 2005 sp500 today.

On pavement. I had about 1/4 mile of room. I got it up to 54 mph. I have had it to 54 on a dirt road before. I have about 80# of accessories too. According to gps my speedo is 1 mph slow at 20mph, so that may be the same at top end. I didn't have the gps mounted today.'

I don't think my quad would go any faster if I had more room.

The rpm was about 6600 or 6700. What is the rev limiter at for the 500?

My Outlander got up to 55 mph also, just not as quick. I drag raced it a few times today. I beat it pretty good.

cool, i just figured out friday that my scrammy tops out the same as my bros z400. mine is stock and he ahs a holowed out pipe, jet kti and uni filter. so, im figuring about 69 mph because he didnt have the speedo hooked up friday but he had topped it out before at 69. thats pretty good if u ask me. and off the line i can keep right up with him.

oh, thats weird. is it a 400, becuase my brother barely had any throttle left before he was topped out and i was right behind him. he was getting ahead of me and i wasnt gaining on him, we were staying the same.

mine will go no more than 58 on highway. and my dads '04 400 sportsman will do 55 on highway. but both speeds are from the speedo not gps so it could be slow or fast.

Yes GPS is exactly like radar only completely different. A GPS unit won't fry your eggs! It is extremely accurate though.
