Why did it not sell? Wrong time of year? Price? for HPD Race Quad?
#1
I put my HPD quad on e-bay and the highest bid was only $4200. Why? I would think that it is worth more than that considering the condition it is in and how much a new one is. I can take it up to Pine Lake for the national T.T. race in a couple weeks. I saw an HPD quad sell last November for over $8000 with two years of racing on it on the GNC. I thought that it was a good gauge to sell mine. Am I way out of line here or is it the wrong time of year to sell this thing or is $4200 the best I can get for a $18,000 quad for a new one. Thanks. Please be honest. I will keep it and still have fun whenever I can find time to ride it anymore.

You may try brokering a sale thru HPD. They may list it on their website for a fee or something.? You may get more exposure this way. May just have to wait until you find the right buyer. These type of quads have a specific type buyer.
Just curious. Why are you selling?

Time to move on. I am going back to school to get my Masters and my time is very limited any more on the weekends. I have lost most of the people I ride with. Many of them have moved on to utilities and I still love to ride fast=I ride alone until they catch up. I don't have fun as much anymore at the age I am at too. I don't work out and stay in shape to ride. This machine is a machine that BEGS to be ridden hard. I have some plans for the money that includes concreting my driveway and my pole barn with a pool. I will be spending more time at home in my old age. I do still have a trail boss and a Polaris 4x4 to ride when I can get out to ride. Just not as often when I rode almost every weekend. The machine is in perfect condition, just I am not anymore as I get older.

Look at the price of all the used sport quads. The YFZ and TRX 450R have killed the price of banshees and raptors around here. For some reason at the dunes a 46 HP on the dyno YFZs or 45Hp Hondas go out and spank 60-70 HP Banshees over and over dont ask me why. I have seen 20 bikes all take off for a 4-500 foot drag and seen like 10 yfzs and the 4 hondas up front and then all the other bikes including some fast banshees mixed in gettin waxed by the new bikes. When polarisfreak raced them admittedly he was always either first or in the top 3 with his 400 sport but the new bikes are really fast. I am a scrambler man and on dirt a good running ported/piped 400scrambler will whip em 99% percent of the time in 300-400 dragraces. But for $5200 for the honda and $6200 for the yamaha the banshees wont sell around here like they used to. Recently 01,02 raptors sell for under $3000.Newer piped/ported really trick banshees bring $2800 to $3800 for 2000,2001 models but a year and a half ago they would bring $4000-$5000 used.

I may wait a little while to relist it. I may, as I said before, take it some races to advertise it and sell it. I never considered selling it on the forum's classified section. How succesfull has it been for some of you versus e-bay? Any other suggestions to sell it? I don't believe Daryl will allow me at HPD to post it on his website to sell it. He will want to buy it from me and resell it at a profit. I can't blame him but I would rather not. I don't need the money that fast. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all. It's all about weight and torque in sand. You gotta get going and get going fast! The shorter the race the better you need to get out of the hole to have a chance against the new light 4 strokes!
