Default Rancher dying, any ideas?

Have an 02 Rancher that will just die while your riding. After it dies you can put it in nuetral and start it rigt up, may go for another hour may quit again in a couple minutes, no ryme or reason to it but always restarts good. Any Ideas?

First thing to check, would be the tank vent, and the carb vent. If either was plugged, youd get those symptoms.

hondabuster is right, carb or tank vents cause suction to build in the fuel system and stop fuel flow. also, could be a bad ignition coil, they heat up from running and the circuit opens inside, then when it dies the coil cools off since it's not running, and the circuit connects again and it will start right up.
