my dad owns an 01 ac 400 and it has an oil leak. it is coming from the seem where the side cover connects to the main part of the engine. is there any other people with the same problem?

 

Isn't there a gasket that goes under that cover? Are all the bolts tight? If no gasket then pull the cover and use a thin layer of RTV. The oil will make it swell enough to seal super. You might try the RTV even if there is a gasket. I went and checked, there are gaskets under all the covers. Being a 2001 a leak shoulded be a major surprise. Get the gasket and replace it.

 

it has a gasket and we torqued all the bolts. we are to scared to take the side cover off because there is gears in there and we dont have enough money to take it to the dealer and get charged a million dollars to get it fixed.

 

Get a service manual. This isn't rocket science. If you can't get one (try e-bay), I can always scan my manual and send you the pages.
