Default clutch woes. please help

ok so heres my scenario I removed the primary clutch and secondary clutch to do some maintenance. I replaced the weights in the primary and reinstalled it, and I replaced the secondary spring with an HPD violet in the 2-2 position. This was great for about ten minutes and then something started to happen.

after about ten minutes my quad would run great up until I pasted half throttle then all of a sudden it would rev real fast but not gain any speed at all above what 1/2 throttle would give me. Any ideas what this could be I have two potential ideas.

One the spider may have started to some loose when I removed the clutch, it did but I tightened it back down.

Two when I removed my secondary clutch last night I noticed I could push the belt down about two inces into the sheeves with just one finger not pushing hard at all. Is this correct? it seems there should be more resistance then that.

it could be a combo of a few things. belt too worn? and the spider didnt get tightened enough? i think the torque spec in the manual is like 200ftlb. did you inspect you buttons in the secondary when you had it apart?

just afew ideas.....

Also reloaded and installed the snap ring on the secondary we will see how it goes.

It's got to be something you can see or find fairly easily.

Sounds like something in the secondary.Like CED said the snap ring come loose or the spring came out oh the holes.did you preload it counterclock wise if so you need to go at least 1/3 turn to get it over the helix ramps.

The belt should be riding about 1/8" above the sheave at the top.
