Is there a lemon law for polaris
#1
I have a 05 LE and It's been in the shop 4 times in the last 2 months for the same problem. The battery appears to die on me.They have so called checked everything. The dealer has replaced 2 batteries and checked the rectifer and the abilty to keep a charge. It won't turn over. lights come on, but when I try to start, the light flickers I am getting sick to my stomach. It has less then 15 hrs and I keep it spotless. I've done all the right stuff oil change, clean filter, oil zerts. These things can not be that fragile. All this money for this thing to be down is not cool. Still under warranty. Was purchased in may. I'm not a mechanical kind of person, but it seems I'm going to have to be a master mechanic to keep this thing up and running. Is there some policy I need to know when I take it in for the 5th time on monday for the same problem. Can they replace or do they have to keep trying to fix it. Can I write someone who will respond. Please HELP thanks in advance

Each state is different on lemon laws. Do a google search on on your state and see what it says. I know of only one person who suceeded in having that law work in her favor and it was a Chevy product. Took her aobut 2 years for it to go through the hoops.

The laws are deferent from state to state. Pretty much it says if you buy a product and it is defective or has several recurring problems ect, you can return the product/vehicle, ect for a full refund or exchange.....

most of the time if it has the same problem 3 times under warranty the company has to supply you with a brand new product with no questions asked.

Turn to the back of your owners manual. Warranty read the note" some states do not allow for the limitation of express or implied warr." You need to go to 'your state .gov' and type in implied or express warr. on the search. My state is one of those that fits that disclaimer they have to put in the owners man. I'm working on a complete list of failures and loss of use plus milage and time for being stranded w/repeat breakdowns. My dealer has proven useless and when I called the next closest dealer they said they could not do the warr. work, I would have to bring it to my dealer.(I know this is not true) I have one last hope about an hour away and then its small claims court time. Check that in your state search as well. My state is only $45.00 to file and a$15.00 notifacaton fee for them to notify the dealer and manufacturer. A lawyer I called said you have to go after the dealer as well as the manufacturer. The dealer can not wash his hands of it just because he did'nt make it. Take the time, do the search.
In my state as well as others the "lemon law" only aplies to Vehicles reg. for use on public roads" and used cars are exempt.
Hope this helps. I know what you're dealing with.
