Default Ron Woods CDI Hard wire Question. Help needed.

I am in the process of buying a Ron Woods CDI unit off a member of ATV connection. The CDI unit is off his 2002 DS 650 Baja. He said I will have to hard wire the unit into my 2004 DS 650 Baja. I have two questions here.

First: The CDI box is off a 2002 Baja. It will be compatible with my 2004 Baja correct ?

Second: I know one of you guys knows how to wire it. Could you tell me how? (What colors go where)

Thanks, D

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't be compatable. I'm not sure if the colors changed but here's what I used:

Wiring for DS650 Baja

DS Baja--------Rev Box

Red------------Violet Red
Black-Yellow----White
Black---------Black or Blue
White-------Green Orange
--------------Green Not Used

Hope this helps.

Default Ron Woods CDI Hard wire Question. Help needed.

Hi guys,I just noticed this post and I don't know if it confirmed my feeling or not, but here is my question.I bought a 03 DS650 Baja "orange and black" as a theft recovery and one of the things that I noticed was that the cdi was rewired and taped, and I do believe that there was a green or blue wire not connected to anything. The cdi has no label on it so I have no idea if it is the stock one or not.So what do you guys think about this.I have not got to ride it yet, as I am not finished getting parts to put it back together.Just a note! If you guys would of seen this quad before I got it and cleaned, scrubbed, and painted it you would of been upset just at the site of it not being taken care of.Just my opinion, but I think these quads are cool looking. Thanks and let me know any info.RUSS
