Default Throttle Body

i know on carbed motors how increasing the Carb size inreases power, but what about for throttle bodys? ive seen carbs flying around with 48mm's while im stuck with a measly 40mm for a 800 twin. you guys think that maybe theres a 50mm throttle body out there that would fit, and is this exchance even possible?

along with that note, since you'd have to change the EFI settings, and you cant save them without having a laptop connected to the EFI modual 24/7, could you hook up a power commander and just change settings through that and save it? im not entirely sure how the PC's work

thanks guys

you would need to throw on a higher flowing exhaust i think and mod the airbox a bit,. but i imagine theres a way to have your throttle body bored out, similar to waht they do to carbs.

and yes you can hook up a power commander and it will make adjustments for your modifications.

well im planning on buying a HSP Power cam, HSP true dual exhuast, and a power commander, and i have a K&N filter on, and ive taken the snorkle cut it half and trimmed the intake hole on the lid bigger. and id like to have the engine ported if someone near by me does it, as far as the throttle body, could i do it with a dremmel or would a pro have to?

Yes, you could bore the Throttle body out some but until you make the throttle blade itself bigger you really haven't done anything. You are always held back by the smallest opening. You could have a bigger diameter blade made for your throttle body BUT the time and $$$ it would take would NOT be worth it.

Remember, you are only feeding 2 cylinders with a 35mm valve on each one. I think the long intake runner on the cylinder head is more restrictive then the throttle body.

Something else to think about, an inexperienced person with a die grinder could make a bad flowing cylinder head worse.....
