Default 300EX Wont start

Im getting fuel and fire but not sure of timming. The flyweel is on the T mark with piston at TDC and the cam gear has one mark on
each side of the head with a smaller mark at the top. Is this the right timming set-up? If so any other sugestions on why it wotn start
woulb be very helpfull.
Thanks.

If you have both timing marks flush with the top of the head, you are timed. Have you checked compression?

My gauge wont fit so I held my finger over the spark plug hole, feels like it has plenty of compresion to start.

From experience that doesn't mean squat...the finger over the hole method can get ya. I just rebuilt a buddies z400 engine and one of the valve shims got cocked crooked somehow and bent a valve. i fought with timing forever because i used "finger in the hole method" just can't tell purchase or borrow a compression tester.
