I have an idea, someone shoot me down...

OK, my son rides a 2005 Trail Blazer and since the tank is somewhat small, we have to refuel more frequently than with my 700 on long hauls. It is a pain if you are out on the mountain to have to come back. Obviously, I could just pack fuel in, but I want another solution.
Whenever I fill his tank up completely, I lose fuel through the overflow tube. Sometimes a lot if we are climbing. Would it be possible to cap that line and replace the factory cap with one that has the vent cap. They let air in but doesn't leak fuel. The factory cap is a waste IMO. The cap gauge isn't at all accurate anyway.
If this will work, I will do the same to my daughter's Predator 50. She hates the smell of gas, LOL.

It will work just fine. No guage (whether very accurate or not) to me would be one minus though.
I ran into a similar problem on a KX250 bike I had. The cap cracked & was leaking gas all over. So my cheap fix was putting the gas tank cap (also vented) off my Craftsman riding lawn mower. VERY ghetto I know! But it worked great. A new cap for the mower was $5.00 compared to $25.00 for a KX gas cap.

Good story...That isn't ghetto, that is ingenuity at work.
Yes, I like the idea of a guage too. But, we always ride together and I know (within a couple miles) when he is getting low. I just want to get as many miles as possible.
