Default Tough Decision: Rancher?

Hi, I am 16 and have saved up some money, and I am trying to decide whether I want to buy an ATV or dirtbike. I know that this site is for ATV riders, so I would like to know if the Rancher ES is good up steep hills and trails. I went and looked at some and I really liked what I saw. Any info or suggestions you can give me would be great.

Ive ridden 4 wheelers and dirtbikes(never owned a d/b). It is fun to ride my buddies bikes but i like rought terrain so the atv is the best for me. I would much rather have and atv.

a rancher will do ANYTHING a big bore utility can do, and or sport bike, its not the fastest, but it does everything in stride

yes, i agree. the rancher ES will go anywhere a bigger atv will go, it's maybe not the most powerful or fastest, but it will keep up with the bigger ones through the woods.

but if you are deciding between a dirtbike or atv, maybe you should look at the sport quads? like the 450R, 400ex or raptor 350/700R? They would be a lot more fun to ride than the rancher, especially if you wanna do dirtbike-style stuff. You wont be able to go mudding or anything with them, but they are much lighter and probably feel more like a dirtbike.
