Default 2005 700 EFI Rear end noise

When riding in high gear, it sounds like the rear end is clanking, especially down hill or when hard on the brakes. Does not seem to do it in low range. It seems to run fine, but the noise is kinda annoying. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this normal?

What you are hearing is back lash and it is normal on the twins as they all do it...

nb's right on the money and during decents and trailing throttle, you may get an occasional belt squeal to add to your drivetrain backlash. like my 04 700 does. thats just all the shafts and gears rocking back and forth.
