Tires for foreman 500 4x4
#1
I've been following treads about aftermarket tires for sometime now. Seems like the mudlites or the 589's are a good tire. Here's my situation: I'd like to keep my stock steel rims and just replace the OEM tires. I have no experience with this machine in the snow, but I would like to horse around with my kids when we do get snow. We do alot of hard pack riding. In good conditions these roads can be great to cruise on all day long. If it rains for a couple of days they turn into 3" of pudding. The trails we ride on are mostly they type you find here in the Northeast, forests floor dirt withsome rocks and grass. I don't plan on doing any rock crawling etc., just hauling firewood, deer (when I don't miss!) and chores around our deer camp. Would Radials be a big improvment?? Any suggestions would be great.

check out the Wetlands radial. I like mine and mounted the 26" on the stock rims. Much better than stock in snow, mud, ride and handling. No flats yet (knock on wood) and I ride the same trails that popped my stock tires in 30 miles.

Yes radials are the way to go. Like propnut said check out the wetlands or my choice the 25" ITP holeshot ATR. They are radial and will be more suited for what you are riding on. They are great in snow and give a Ultra smooth ride unlike some of those mud tires you mentioned. Do a search on Ebay for some great delas on those tires.

sold my dad 27 589 itp's and they work awesome on his 450 foreman it is now faster then my mom's 450 foreman. i know the 450 foremans are geared entirely way to low, so big tires work good there.
