1995 Wolverine problems
#1
I'm having trouble with my "new" 1995 Wolverine. I can't seem to find "neutral" on the transmission. After putting it in reverse, I pull up on the shift lever, but the neutral light doesn't come on and neither does it appear to be in neutral. Suggestions?

If you are used to most other manual trannys, remember this.. the wolverine is a 5 speed. Neutral is the lowest position. In your post, you stated that you pull up on the lever but can't seem to find neutral. Well, don't pull up, push down.
If you already knew this, disreguard my comment.

Mine bogs down when I hit the gas hard in first gear, I read a review on this somewhere but I cant find it now I think it had something to do with the air intake, it either got to much or to little. Anyone know how to fix this. The review I read says it came this way new and it was the only complaint they had and that yamaha fixed it for 96. Sucks getting beat off the line by 250s and having to play catch-up till I can feed them some dust. Would like to have the other guy being the one to get a mouthful of dirt for a change.

jaygolf,
The bog off idle was a real problem with the 95 Wolverine, first, make sure the jetting update was done to it, there was a "retrofit" done to the 95 to help with some of the carb problems, a dealer should be able to look your VIN up and see if it was done. One main thing with the Wolverine/Warrior carb was the accel pump rod spring, it is pathetically weak, and gets stuck down real easy, the permanent fix is to replace it with a ball point pen spring, it is the same size, but 5 times stronger. If the plunger stays down, you get no gas shot when you hit the throttle, the carb gets a big gulp of air with no extra gas,so you lean out and bog.Another thing is checking the plastic arm that pushes the rod down, if there is a real big space between them, the carb will open up too far before getting a shot of fuel, and the same bog shows up. You will have to play with the spacing to get your motor set up right, but it will make a big difference on bottom end response. It is hard to get all of the bog out,but these two things will help a lot.

My husband just bought a mint condition 95 Wolverine. He is wondering why one doesn't just replace the carburetor with the 96 modifications. Can you do that? His has a modified intake and the previous owner said the jetting was changed when the tube was replaced - he thought 4 jet sizes larger??????? thanks
