I'm thinking of replacing the tires (and keeping the rims/wheels) on my Yamaha Wolverine. The type of tire I need should be effective in mud/snow and general trail riding. Can anyone suggest a tire that represents a great value?

check out the maxxis and itp websites.........they sell good tires, and pretty much all of them are effective. I personally run maxxis razors

 

Check out the GBC DirtDevils or gators. They seem to last forever. Check out my last couple of pictures.
