We are going on out first long (80 miles) ride tomorrow. I notice my (and my wifes) fuel guage hardly moves but I (we) get low on fuel.
How many miles per tank are you folks getting on the 400?

 

Depending on how you ride, 80 miles or so.
We rode medium to fast (20 - 40 MPH) on hard packed roads and some loose gravel/dirt. At 51 miles I had 2/3s left and you could see the bottom of the tank. Bear in mind that the tank is not flat across the bottom. At 67 miles, "Fuel" started blinking in the cluster. At 78 miles, "Fuel" was still blinking. Our plan was to to run them out of fuel but it didn't work that way. We fueled up early as we had a long/steep climb up out of a valley and didn't want to run out on the way up. Elevation was from 2500 - 4500.
