Default Differance between the outlaw and predator 500 TLD

I am stuck between the predator 500 tld or the outlaw, the only differance on the spec sheet is a 1 in. differance on the swingarm plus its like $ 800 more than the predator. What makes it more ?

not really sure what you consider stuck........but I assume you are talking of buying one of them. If that is so, please go look at them in person........or atleast do some research on the forums, and on the polaris website about them.l

Now, for the info I know about them........the predator.....is well......the predator......it is good in the trails, but doesn't ride great.......more for the track. The outlaw on the otherhand, is built a little differently in the in the engine, for more torque.....and it has independent rear suspension, rather than just an axle like the pred. This makes the power stick to the ground a lot better......and the ride is better too. This should be a great trail machine, other than its weight.

Thanx, I believe I'm gonna go with the Predator 500 TLD. Its the right quad for what I am gonna use it for. Out here in California you have the dunes, trails, moto, forest trails, water we have it all. It came down to the YFZ 450 or the predator and i really like the package for the money that polaris offers in comparison to the Yamaha. I seen stock VS. stock and the predator really spanked the YFZ. These bikes had good riders on them also.Predator it is. Also do you think a 170 main jet will work for starters with a Yoshimura full exhaust system with a K & N no lid system. Thanx again guys.

the predator style airbox is the exact same thing as a car, you have the actual box, then the filter, and then the lid which connects to the carb (the actual lid does) so removing the lid is pretty pointless.

the best airfilter you can get is the Twin Air clamp on, which litterally just clamps right onto the carb. get that ($89) and a outerwears ($15) and you'll be set

the most funny thing about the preds set up, is that a honda cold air short intake for a civic will fit on it

First.........the yoshi pipe blows...........look back a few pages for the thread titled 06 pred exhausts.......or something similar.......we went through each pipe.

Next, I agree with everything spyder said..........except..........the twin air filter is only around $45-50

Spyder........if you are getting your values off the nicholas page, that comes with the 1qt of oil, instructions(unneeded), and 2 carb filters.......which are like $15 each. They do help a lot though........but aren't needed.
