Default 2001 Rancher 350ES Wont go in Reverse

I bought my Rancher used a few months ago, and everything has been running perfect since. But today the reverse stopped working out of the blue. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I was thinking its either something to do with the transmission, and the bar that the cable on the handlebars pulls, or a sensor that allows the electronic shift program to actually shift it into reverse.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I had the same problem with my rancher. For me it was a wire in back of the engine got riped out from branches etc...if you lay under your atv, it is the wire in the bottom center of the back of then engine..if that is your promblem it is kinda hard to miss...dangling wire=no revo
good luck

I saw one dangaling tube but I'm pretty sure that is the gas overflow tube.. Anyone else? The cable to thr transmission is still intact because I can see it moving, what else could be wrong?

possibly out of adjustment too, i know my rancher is finicky on whether it goes into reverse or not, i have to pull more on the brake lever and then it will go in. There should be an adjustment for it.

hey bud, i have had the same prob. lock the parking brake and lift the bike up till its standing up on the rear rack and the rear wheels. look about in the middle but more to the rear wheels and there is a wire that has either come unpluged or you have tore it apart. i think it is a green wire with a small black elbow fitting on it that needs to be pluged back to the machine. that is the reverse wire from the E.S. handle to the drivetrain. good luck!
