I FOUND MY RAPTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#1
i took the day off from work and went looking for my raptor,i spent this morning asking all my neighbors if they had seen it yesterday (without much luck).after that i went around town with a picture and asked everyone i knew to get ahold of me if they saw it.i decided to go to park city mt.,its about 15 miles west of me,anyway i could only find one guy i knew at home there and told him about it.park city is a real small town and he said he would let me know if he saw it.i then drove to billings and ckd a couple of places i thought it might be (without much luck) when my cell phone rang and it was the guy from park city.he says he just saw a kid on a raptor.he talked to him and asked where he got the cool looking quad, the kid tells him he got it 6 mounths ago and just moved up here from texas.so i hung up and called the laurel police dept. and told them and they say theyll send a sheriff right out.needless to say i beat them to park city,my sister was on her way,my dads girl freind, and the guy that called me was there looking for the quad too.the guy from park city went to the school and asked the teachers if they saw the quad and where the kid lived, they told him everthing he need to know and he went to the kids house and seen somthing under a tarp next to it.guess what it was my quad!the kid had took off but his mom didnt seem to happy!he had told her some kid wanted to sell it and asked her for money to buy it.so now the police dept has it so they can try to get finger prints, they said i should get it back tomorow.i did call the cops when it was stolen and when the first question they asked was is it insured i new they wouldnt find it.i guess a little detective work of my own paid off.and i hope they nail the littel basterd too the wall.but i got it back and nothings broke or bent so im pretty happy.this kid is 15 years old and has the ***** to steal something like that in broad daylight unreal.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to tie him up and flog him with 10 to 15 lashes. He would then probably never do it again. I'm real glad you got it back. I was thinking about that off and on since you posted and have been thinking how to secure mine better and also look into how I can get it insured.

Insure that bike to the fullest,at least for the first 2years. My bike is at my dads cottage and no one has been there for almost two weeks.I have the bike insured for replacement cost in case it's gone one day when we go to the cottage.I,m telling you it's a nice feeling to not worry about it.
The Raptor is a expensive bike and is sure worth the insurance.Glad you leg work paid off for you and the freaks did not wreak the machine.

Congratulations!
I, too, recovered my stolen ATV (twice); however, once not in as good a shape as yours (understatement).
The perpetrator in the first instance was tried for Grand Theft, ATV; he plea-bargained to Pettit Theft at trial; was sentenced to 350 days, with all but 10 suspended, and required to stay a mile away from my property during his suspended sentence.
The second case was perpetrated by person or persons unknown; however, I got my ATV back.
In the first case I had the outstanding support of a rural Sheriff's Department, who tracked and recovered the ATV across a state line (coordinating with the State Police there). In the second case, I found recovery of ATV's isn't the highest priority of an urban police force; I found the quad on my own (posted a hundred "Have You Seen Me?" posters, cruised the ATV riding area, talked to a hundred people).
While I do not support excessive punishment, certainly in this enlightened day and age, as a victim of this kind of theft, I can understand why "hoss thievin'" was taken seriously in the Old West. 'Nuff said.

I am happy you got it back. My neighbors got there quad stolen right out of there garage. Somone opened there garage door and loaded there 4-wheeler on a truck in day light! I take my tires off my 400ex and put it up on blocks so i can sleep at night!
