Rincon, Foreman Rubicon or Rancher for Utility Ranch
#1
I have never owned an ATV, only ridden Friends. I own 16 acres of which I will primarily use the ATV for hauling trash cans, pulling small trailers of wood, carring tools around, and then letting the kids have a blast ridding around on it. I will probably never go for a long distance ride. It will mainly be used as a utility vehicle on my acreage. I like the looks of the Rincon 05. I have an opportunity to get one out the door for around $6200. Which is a pretty good deal for our area. I like the fact that it is large and comfortable and has 650cc of power. However, I am a little concened about the ranch abilities. The pulling and hauling. Although I will not be using it too hard or extreme, I want the ability to pull stuff around and beat on it a little with out having to worry. In your opinions, would getting a Rincon over say a Foreman Rubicon or Rancher be a big mistake? Are the Rubicons or Ranchers a much more durable ranch vehicle? Or will the Rincon do all that I need it to do? Rubicons in our area are about 2-$300 more, so if price is not the issue, which is best for ranching and having fun on my 16 acres. Thanks for any guidance.

Well, the rincon is a very good atv. But for your utility porpuses i would get the rubicon. For heavy trailors you have the solid axel and low gear unlike the rincon. THe rincon is a recreational atv more than a work atv like most of the other hondas. THe rubicon has larger racks for hauling your tools around and more than enough power. The ride will be a little rougher than the rincon buy it will be fine. THe rubicon is an awsome choice for you. THats what i would get. good luck.

I prefer the Rancher because it is big enough to do the job, but isn't the heavy hulking beast that todays utilities have become. The Rancher has a nice low tech time tested gear-on-gear manual transmission, vs complex (and expensive!) automatics. A Rancher will run forever.
Also consider the Foreman 500, if you are looking for a bigger machine. It also has a manual transmission.

i would recommend the foreman because it has more low end torque and it is for farm use at the honda dealership that i bought mine from told me that it is used more for farming .....i use mine for playin in the mud though and it does just fine...you get better pullin and towin power...not that i favor the foreman because i have one... if i had it to do over i might have gotten the rincon because it has the all wheel independet suspencion and would be better for mudding....but for the farm i would use the rubicon..
