Default Secondary switch for winch?

I installed the AC(Warn) winch the other day with the rocker switch right under the starter button. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem accidently activating the winch. Or if anyone has installed a secondary switch that deactivates the rocker switch until it is needed. I was thinking a switch wired between the two parts of the plugin connection that is right in front of the "steering column". Comments? Thank you.

Yeah, I've had the fat thumb syndrome a few times. A cut off switch is a good idea. I think rather than interrupt the power to the winch switch (even though I know right where it runs) I might install a DTDP switch near the solenoid assembly and cut off the switch input to that.

Thanks for the idea Bear. I was thinking that I could mount the switch in that inspection plate that goes around the steering so that if I wanted to take it out sometime, replace the inspection plate, hole gone.

Also the solenoid is mounted on the frame, just in front of the oil cooler, above the motor end of the winch which makes it a little hard to get to.

I was also thinking that I wouldn't have to cut any wires by just plugging into and out of whats already there.

Why not just leave you winch in the free wheel position. Then if fat fingers accidentally hit the switch, the gears aren't engaged!

Petroleumboy, I hadn't really thought about that until this afternoon when my uncle also mentioned it. Thank you for your insight.
