My 800 Max wheelies fine but the max XT might have a harder time pulling a wheelie.
It has a winch and extra racks to weigh it down. You could move the winch to the back.
The diameter of the XT ACT tires are almost an inch larger and are 4-5 pounds more each.

The max can carve up trails fine so don't worry about the extra 8 inches. Those extra inches will allow you to climb some serious hills that the non max can't.
If you have your wife, the max is awesome for 2 up riding and the second removable seat is a great setup.

I own the MAX 800 and I purposely did not buy the XT package because I dont like the XT tires and I HATE the location of the 2500 Warn winch..I did'nt want to pay 800 bucks MORE for something I was going to change anyway.

Im very fortunate to have a very close friend that is nothing short of a spectacular when it comes to fabrication. He owns the BRP 800 single seater and has built both of us a gazillion modifications for our ATVs.He started with aluminum battery enclosers, hitch attachment, floorboard skids, and full under body/cv skid plates.

His finest invention was what he did to my 4000 lb Warn Winch [this mod took some THINKING]..I do not like how low the WARN 2500 lb winch sits in its stock location on the 800 BRP.My friend took the time to fabricate a fully removable [with pins] winch plate and attachment that sits RACK HIGH..The huge advantage of having the winch located like this is that the rider is not digging in the mud or snow for his winch cable IF they need to use it,and it keeps your winch OUT of this type of enviroment, thus enhancing its life span.

I did not like the tires that come on the XT package either.Im running 27 inch Mudlite Radial tires on all four corners.Actually, when its all said and done, you'll be able to call my BRP a

XXT MAX.
