Default 650 oil capacity

Just changed the oil on my 650 using the artic cat synthetic kit. the manual says it takes 1.85 qt. I did that ran the engine a bit and its still on the add mark. I put the rest in which was hardly any and drove it around the yard a bit, I let it sit for an hour and it is eighth inch past the add mark. anybody else run into this?

thanks

Yes been there done that the manual is incorrect. Two quarts with filter change will put you midway (1/2 +-) mark. You do not want the level at the top (full) mark. Because you will get oil “blow by” into the air box.

Thanks shonk, This is the second oil change I put on the beast at 225. I bought her last spring, i heard that people were putting to much oil in causing a problem. I Think they need different dipsticks.

Thanks a bunch
p.s. Boy can she push the snow

I bought my V2650 last spring also. The oil gets changed every 500 miles max
I don’t push snow with my AC that’s for my JD AR (1948)

Shonk

Ps I have 2,800 miles on the V2650 with no major issues

The Shonk is correct, if you are at or above the full mark, drain a little out.
