timing chain

Default timing chain

i have a question abouy the timing chain on my ds. i have the motor out and the top cover off. the chain between the sprockets at the top is loose but its tight everywhere else. is this normal or do i need a chain and gears?? thanks

Default timing chain

First off what are you trying to do? Are the cam marks lined up? How loose is it ie amount of play in chain ? Are you doing cam work? There shouldnt be much play between the cam gears. Is the chain guide on the top between the gears in good shape?
