kazuma drive chain help
#4
cemmam,
If tightening its chain becomes a "pain", you may want to install a spring loaded chain tensioner (if it doesn't already have one). If wondering, I installed an HPD Spring loaded chain tensioner on my son's '03 Pred-90 approx 2 years ago. Today, we tighten its chain in the spring and again in the fall. And that's it. Beside eliminate this pain after 4 trail rides, a spring loaded chain tensioner reduces the risk of its chain coming off and dramatically reduces sprocket wear.
If you are good with a welder, you might want to purchase a universal spring loaded chain tensioner that has a nylon roller and "make it fit". Sure glad we installed one on our '03 Pred-90. If wondering, the 04 -> 06 Pred-90s now come factory with a spring loaded chain tensioner. I guess Polaris noticed how great a spring loaded chain tensioner on their factory build is as well.
Something to think of....
