I just spent half the afternoon trying to solve a problem with my flat scanner. The single sheet scanner works but is no help with the sheets from my manual. If Swampy's came thru let me know.

skidaddyrickus,

I just added some driving lights and backup light to my '05 trv 500. I used relays mounted by the battery with a fused supply. I mounted the switch on the pod. The power to activate the switch is from the ac key switch. There are three wires to the ac keyswitch. One is hot all the time, one is hot when the key in in the center position (no lights) and the third is hot when it is in the light position (as well as the second wire still being hot). I tapped the power to activate the relays from the third position. That way my driving lights would only activate when the headlights were on.

If you need more clarification, let me know.

Steve

4x4FF,

From the wiring diagram Swampy JR sent me (thanks, Swampy) I found a "switched accessory" wire set already in place. All ll I had to do was plug into the prewired connection to get the lights going. There are two wires, one orange (load) and the other black (ground). Actually this prewired hookup is probably for adding a winch. It's located inside the pod area very close to where the ignition key switch lead assembly plugs in.

This connection is not in the same circuit as the existing light circuit, but thru the first position of the ignition switch. I thought about wiring it in with the stock lights, but this way I can operate them alone. Just another option.

The diagram also shows a second prewired "rear" accessory connection as above. At this point I don't have a need for it so I haven't dug in to find that one.

Thanks for the input and feedback.
