Default SUNL, Roketa etc

I was interested in buying a couple of quads for my family. I am pretty sure this has already been asked but after reading on this forum for a couple of hours, I figured it would be just as easy to just ask the question again, so please forgive me if this is a repeat.

I was interested in buying one of those Sunl 90cc quads for both of my kids and maybe the 150 or 250 sport. I f you go to www.localpocketbikes.com, you will see the 90cc that I am talking about. They call it a 90cc Wombat, but I am pretty sure it is a SUNL. Also, here is the link for the online store on Ebay that has the 250cc that I was interested in. http://stores.ebay.com/Scooter-Town

You will see on the Ebay link that there are two sport ATVs. One of them is a 150cc and the other a 250cc. Both of these are made by Roketa. Has anyone ever heard of this brand and are their any good or bad things about them. I have read many many good things about the 90cc ATVs, so if the ones on this site are the good ones, please let me know. Also, any comments on the 150cc and the 250cc would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I got the 90cc from Raceway ATV, I've had pretty good luck with it so far. If you aren't really handy with mechanical stuff I would suggest you might not want one though. If you are going to do it try John at Raceway, he's a good guy and has handled any of my problems quickly and sent the parts out to me right away. He's has some 150's and up on his site you might want to look for comparision.

Best of Luck,

Marc

I'll check that out and see how it compares. I have heard nothing but good stuff about him and his business, so I might want to go that route.

Welcome to the forum MINIMAN and imesinga. Like imesinga says if your not really handy with a wrench it would be best to buy from someone like John at Raceway. There arent to many dealers selling chinese quads that care about you after the sale like John does.

Just to further the point on John. Kids 90 wouldn't start today. 5 minutes on the phone with John, isolated the problem and the part is on the way. Of course I went to the switches first and started cleaning crap out, always forget the simplest point. Solenoid, Duh!

I totally understand that John at Raceway is a good source for troubleshooting and helping people out. I have no problems with that. Just because you buy a product from John or someone else, it is the same product right? So, you should still be able to get some type of support from someone on the forum or could take matters in your own hands by fixing it yourself. My real deal is that Raceway sells these things for twice what I can get them for, but offers great support. So, am I just paying double just for the support?

I can get the 90cc from the place mentioned in my original post for $475 out the door, since I am picking it up. Also, the Roketa 150 sport I can pick up for an even grand. The Roketa 250 sport, I can get that for 1500.00. So, after I do the math, if the thing is going to break, wouldn't you think it would break regardless of where you purchased it from? Think of it like this...

You buy a Honda TRX300EX quad from one place. You find another place for 1/4 of the cost. It is still the same bike, but which one would you buy from. Money is not on my trees, so I would go for the lower priced "same bike" deal.

No Miniman not what I meant. If you got a better deal get it by all means. I just know my dealings with John, and I don't have a source out here in the sticks to get one cheaper. I would probably do the same thing if it meant saving that much. Best of luck no matter what you decide.

This is not the right way to think about the chinese quads. Who you buy it from makes all the difference in the world. This is where alot of people are making mistakes. It is not a Honda or Yamaha and they do not have the same type of distribution or service support so NO you cannot look at it this way.

Just my 2 cents but Ive seen and heard it before.

Ok, so there really isn't a comparison between the Chinese made quads and the "Brand Name" models. But explain to me how it makes all the difference in the world to buy the same exact product with the same exact warranty period from two different places because of the price difference. If you had a choice to get two for the price of one with the same exact warranty, which one would you choose. Not too many people are going to be inclined to spend twice the amount of money only to get "great" support. So, what happens when the warranty period runs out, where is the support going to come from then? At that point, it is going to be the same type of support you can get from the forum. Bottom line is that you are only going to have the parts under warranty for so long. Even after the warranty period is over, even the best distributor in the world won't honor anything except maybe provide parts for you at your cost.

My main question was not to start an argument, but was to ask if anyone has ever had any problems or know any information on the Roketa 150 Sport and the Roketa 250 Sport.

Thanks!
