Yamoto 150 Transmission??
#1
Hey all, looking for a little help or at least direction on what to look for. My son has a Yamoto 150 and let me tell you, this bike just runs... until yesterday. We were out riding in the desert when what did my wondering eyes just appear? A disapointed 9 year old walking across the desert to me. Well, his bike starts and runs just fine, but the real axel is not turning. Cant really hear any noise, or the sound of metal bouncing around, but I am assuming that I will be pulling off the cover and looking for a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! What side am i tearing off? Should I be looking for a simple pin that broke or is it going to be a bigger problem then that? If i can turn wenches, can the average person handle the job. I know from the past year looking at this board, the answer is here. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to the forum used2boat, You will be loking under the cover on the left. i would assume something came loose in there but it could be a sheared key. Does the output shaft that the front sprocket bolts to move at all when you throttle up?

My mistake, i should not have said axel was not turning, of course its not. The actual drive shaft out of the transmission is not turning. I can't hear any noise while running, and the rear wheels each spin freely. I assume by the left side you mean while standing behind the atv?
thanks
thanks

Don't have a Yamoto but do have a Redcat 150. If you pull the left side off the Redcat you'll find it is belt driven between the engine (front end) and the centrifuqual clutch (rear end). Not sure how hard it is to break a belt but hopefully it's that simple.

Thanks for the great info all, it was just a broken belt.... Question?? when installing the new belt, does it slip over or do i have to remove other parts? If so, should i be replacing other items while apart or just the belt and case gasket?
Thanks all
Thanks all
