Joe,
as a long time user of 3-4 wheelers [since 1983] I'd have to tell you to stay away from Honda 4x4 ATVs if your planing on buying new. They are over priced and under equipped when compared to the other 4x4 manufactures ATVs of similier CC size. And FORGET all the garbage of how RELIABLE a Honda is because its all BS talk today. Now if your were talking pre-2002 or so,than this reliabilty thing about Honda may have some merit to it,but NOT today.

Since your going to be using it for some light work and utility purposes, you want to stay with a 4x4 ATV. Buy one that is switchable from 2wd-4wd so when your done working, you can go out and play and enjoy 2wd also. Bombardier makes a very powerful 400 High Output engine in their Outlander 4x4 that puts out more Horse Power than most 500cc ATVs do. If you dont feel good with the power of the 400HO, make sure to check out their 650cc 4x4. I beleive that Bombardier is offering a 3 yr warranty with their purchases until the end of the month.

Good luck.
Bill

For this type of application, one of the Honda manual clutch machines. The Rancher 350, or is you need something larger, the Foreman 500. These will give you years of trouble free service. You can get them in ES if you don't want to shift with your foot.

Personally, I wouldn't have one of the not very creative rubber band drive automatics that most manufacturers offer, nor would I have one of the complex Honda autos. Just keep it simple and go with a manual, for reliability.
