Running Problem
#1
I purchaed two 90cc for christmas for my kids. I had problemps with one and now that one is great. The other one that did not have a problem is now a problem. The quad will start after sitting for a while then it will run for about 5 min. After it dies it is hard to restart then once it restarts it will only run for about 20 sec. This is very fustrating and I could use some help.

If it runs great for up to 5 minutes, then dies then is a pain to re-start, even with a warm engine, it sounds like its gas tank isn't properly vented. Check its gas cap and/or a vent hose under the front hood area. The gas tank needs to be vented to let GAS out of the bottom of the tank. Heres an idea... Run the mini for 5 minutes - until it dies. As soon as it dies, unscrew the cap off the gas tank. Listen really carefully. If you hear a vacuum sound, then its a gas tank vent problem.
If a 2 stroke, check the spart plug color. If must be dark brown to slight black in all throttle ranges. If its white or has white specs, then its gas mixture is off. Don't drive if it has white specs or white tip. One should only drive if the plug is dark brown - beer bottle brown. If its a 2 stroke, tell us its plug color.
If 2 or 4 stroke, the carb's float setting could be a little off. Meaning, it runs until it drains all the gas out of the carb. When the gas flow can't keep up, it dies. Dies because of no gas in the bottom of the carb. There could be a small spec of dirt in its float needle, or its float adjustment could be off.
Hope these idea helps....

Thank you both for your responce. I have checked on the gas cap and found nothing the flote is working fine. I did remove the peckcock and found small fine plastic around the strainer. I don't think that it got into the carb but I will remove and clean out.
