squealing when left in gear(duramatic)
#1
on my 04 650, there is a squeal when left in gear and idling when the machine is fully warmed up. The squealing goes away when revved up to engagement or shifted into neutral, any ideas?

The squeeling in gear when stopped is your belt contacting the moving primary clutch. This'll sound strange if you haven't heard it before, but the squeeling is a good thing because it means that your belt is on the tight side of the deflection specs, which is very important for long belt life on the 650 V2. I would leave it as it is unless you develop any other problems.

Is the belt not in contact with the primary clutch when it is also on neutral? If that is the case why does it only squeal when it is in gear,in both high and low ratios.

When you are in gear your driven clutch is held still by the tires and the rest of the driveline. When trans is in neutral your driven clutch is allowed to turn so there is no squeal.
