I have a 98 300ex. I have a uni air filter and open air box, fmf megamax pipe, 14 front sprocket and stock rear. I am really happy with it but now that i put the pipe and sprocket on there, in fifth gear it just boggs down. Its almost like my tires are flat and I can't go any faster. My carb. is stock and I run at about 1600 ft. elevation. But I will soon be riding the most at 4000 ft. Do you guys have any ideas. If I have to rejet, what should I jet it at for 4000 ft. Thanks

 

sounds like u have to rejet ......i hate to get off topic but i was thinking about getting the megamax is it worth it?like did u get a lot of gain with it?

 

Ya I really like it. When I did research on that muffler, I found everybody liking the megamax. I noticed that it had a lot more snap just with the muffler over stock. I got mine from rockymountainatv.com for like $235. It came with the muffler, head pipe, like 6 disks and the quite core insert. Do you have any suggestions for what jets to use for 4000 ft. because I have no clue about carburators ( I only work on fuel injected cars and trucks).

 

no i cant help u with that but i can assure u its probally ur jetting cuz that happened to my buddies 250x when he had his pipe and airfilter without the proper jetting ur mechine wont run right cuz its getting to much air and not enough fuel

 

Any body got any suggestions on jetting for my quad
