Default Benefits of aluminum VS steel sleeves?

From reading on here, I have come to the conclusion that the sleeve is only as good as the installer.

Aluminum vs steel. The aluminum would have heat properties, expansion/contraction properties similar to a stock or cast cylinder.

My question is why go with a sleeve when you can get a whole new cast cylinder? Is it the cost issue? If so, you could sell your stock cylinder to make up the difference.

well one of the reasons for asking is I bought a 102mm bored DS jug (At a great Price), and would like to go to 105mm, and after doing some research I have been finding out that there are a few company's that specialize in the aluminum cylinders, especially for the larger big bores, they related to me that the steel sleeves expansion is too slow and that what causes some of the failures. and that the aluminum expands at the same rate with the cast aluminum jug and less likely to have the egg shaping effect in teh cylinder that has been brought up in this forum (my2 cents worth of research)
