twist throttle
#2
Back in July of '05 i bought a BRAND new 2005 400ex. 2 months later i cut my thumb in half wit ha table saw. i was going stir crazy just looking at my wheeler sitting in the garage. so i ordered a twist throttle a couple weeks after i got injured. once i was about 60% recovered i started riding like i did when i first got my wheeler. honestly i HATED that thing. to be fair i have NEVER driven anything with a twist throttle so it was new to me. i just took it off last Janurary '06 because i felt that it was a pain in the @$$ to use on bumpy terrain, and going up steep hills with bumps it WOULD cut the throttle completely off and make for some scarey moments. Riding wheelies was harder than i thought, if i could ride one for very long. HOW EVER it made my wheeler snappier, as well as made long trail rides easier due to wrist movement VS thumb. would i recomend putting one on an atv, absolutely not. i didnt like it enough to suggest one. however if you feel you want to try it go for it. most people like them, but IMO i dont like them on wheelers. but it saved me from being bored on the couch for the past 6 months... hope this helps and im sure people will put the .02$ worth in... and say im an idiot. but, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. hopefully this helps.

After a while your wrist will start herting, and 89exrider i bet u gained 10 mph with just switching to a twist throttle, along with every other thing u say u our lil 430 can beat yfz's and predators banshees BS

Get your head out of your a$$ and read somethin yfz. I dont even have a twist throttle on mine right now. And if i did how could if give you 10mph It doesnt even do anything except reduce wrist and arm stress. But in your case you would probably still get tired.

Four months ago I snapped the scaphoid bone in my right wrist into two pieces when I went over the handlbars. I am now wondering if my wrist might not have broken if I had been using a twist throttle. My right wrist would not have been bent backwards [extended], it would have instead been wrapped around the grip like my unbroken left wrist.
